First day in Belize

What a great day!  We are definitely in a different country.  So many new sites and sounds.  We drove from the airport to the Belize zoo. The Belize zoo and the adjacent property is awesome.  We stayed in small cabins with a small shower and wash area.  

The food has been great! Last night we had rice with beans and chicken.  This morning we woke to hot cakes,eggs, and bacon

Last night we went on a tour of the zoo.  The night tour is great since so many of the animals are nocturnal.  We were able to hold or touch boa constrictors, tapirs and even a jaguar!  

Today we will be off to the reef!
